$1,210,000 Awarded by the California Energy Commission to Fund Seven Colleges
The Advanced Transportation and Logistics Sector of the California Community Colleges released a competitive solicitation to fund enhancements to community college alternative fuel and vehicle technical training programs throughout California. A total of $1,210,000 was awarded by the California Energy Commission to fund 7 colleges.
Priority was given to colleges in disadvantaged communities (DAC) and to colleges that did not participate in prior round(s) of funding.
Funds Used to Purchase Equipment, Diagnostic Tools and Technical Lab Components for Students Use in the Classroom
Colleges will also update their advanced automotive and alternative fuel vehicle curriculum, adding courses and certificates that align with local workplace demands. Funds can also be used for faculty members to participate in professional development training that will enable them to teach the most current technologies to their students.
