The largest municipally owned utility in the United States, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), has found the FLEX Energy Storage System™ designed by SolarMax Technology to be in compliance with Electric Service Requirements. With the move, the fully integrated battery backup system becomes available for installation by over 1.4 million customers in the LADWP service area.
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), an energy company that encourages the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and supports energy-efficiency programs, says it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with XL Hybrids, a developer of hybrid truck solutions, to purchase up to 110 of their plug-in, electric-hybrid truck systems between 2017 and 2020.
